Manor Farm has a unique architectural style and character and originates from the 16th century. It was first listed for its special architectural interest in 1967.

Recently purchased and keen to invest in the continued conservation of this building, the client was seeking to provide a larger space more suited to contemporary living without causing harm to the main dwelling. With consultation with the local conservation officer, the architectural response was to create a high-quality lightweight addition that sits subservient to the main listed property, delicately connecting via an existing opening. The style and materials are of a contemporary nature and offer a clear contrast between the old and the new, providing a visual narrative to the development of the site.
This sensitive approach has ensured that the importance of this historical asset, with it its unique historic fabric and character, is not challenged by further additions and its significance enhanced for future generations.
