Working alongside CT Planning, BHB Architects have designed a contemporary residential scheme to provide apartments and retail units within the historic cathedral city of Lichfield.
35 apartments, including 25% affordable housing, are provided across two buildings, arranged to make the most of views across Stowe pool and the cathedral beyond, as well as creating an urban courtyard. The enjoyment of the external space is encouraged through incorporation of terraces.
The simple façade is articulated by balconies and deep window reveals to create depth and shadow across the street elevation. The traditional red brick takes its cues from the surrounding Georgian terraces, whilst pre-patinated copper cladding creates a vibrant contrast.
